Most people quit tracking because of the tapping.
Open the app, tap plus, search, scroll, pick the right variant, adjust the serving. Repeat several times a day. It’s not that people don’t want the information — it’s that getting it costs more than it’s worth.
Texting is the thing your thumbs already do without thinking. So that’s the whole interface. There’s no app to install, and nothing to set up beyond your number.
How it works
- 1
Text what you ate
Type it, or send a voice memo when your hands are full. Whatever's easier in the moment.
- 2
It gets logged
Calories and macros come back in seconds, itemized, from a verified nutrition database.
- 3
Review on the web
Totals, history, and trends on a page you can open anywhere. Fix anything that looks off.
The numbers people actually use
Seven, not seventy. Enough to be useful, few enough to read at a glance.
- Calories
- Protein
- Carbs
- Fat
- Fiber
- Sodium
- Sugar
Exercise, water, and body weight land in the same thread — text “ran four miles” or “I weigh 182” and it’s logged.

What you’ll be charged
- Nothing for the first 3 days. The trial starts when you sign up.
- After that, $9.99/month or $69.99/year — whichever you picked.
- It renews on the same date each period until you cancel, and we’ll say when that date is before you pay.
- Cancelling is one clearly labelled step in your settings. No email, no phone call, no retention offer.
Billing runs on the web through Stripe, which is also why there’s no app-store cut in the price.
Worth knowing
- It estimates.
- Portions get inferred when you don’t state them, so numbers are close rather than exact. Anything not found in the database is marked as an estimate so you can tell the difference.
- It’s a log, not advice.
- Vocas records what you tell it and adds up the numbers. It isn’t a medical device and doesn’t give nutritional or medical guidance.
- Voice memos are US and Canada.
- Audio over MMS depends on your carrier and phone. Typed messages work everywhere, every time.
- You can always stop.
- Reply STOP to any message and they end immediately. HELP gets you a hand.
